The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife annually stocks lakes across the state for anglers of all ages.

Fishing opportunities around Ritzville are abundant with nearly 50 locations within a short drive. These lakes and streams have something for everyone - from catchable, jumbo, triploid and fry plant trout to breathtaking scenery superbly suited to a day on the water.

In addition to trout, anglers will find walleye, perch, small and large mouth bass, crappie and bluegill to name a few in the area lakes and streams. If you like the 'really big ones,' there are two major river systems also in the area. In these systems a large number of fish are available to anglers, including salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, walleye, bass, shad, catfish, trout and many others. Some of the best walleye fishing in the world is found in the Columbia River - just a hop down the highway from Ritzville!

Ritzville and Eastern Adams County boasts prime hunting opportunities with pasture and stubble lands as well as two creeks that pass through the area.

Whether you're looking for deer, goose, pheasant and partridge through the scope of a gun or through a camera lens, most of the land is open to hunting with the permission of local landowners. People in the area are friendly and willing to allow hunting on their land providing respect is shown.

For a change of pace, the rural landscape of the area's rangeland also provides a chance to hunt elk, chukar and grouse hunting.
